San Martino di Trecate, October 28 – A journey that began a hundred years ago in Milan, became operational in 1969 when the Novara production site was launched, and has led Esseco to become a group present in 18 countries with 10 plants and its industrial and oenological divisions. An Italian family-run business excellence, ranked among the top 100 national companies, Esseco plays a leading role in the energy transition process within the chemical sector in Italy, using over 70% self-produced energy and more than 55% CO2 free energy. This was among the highlights that 400 visitors discovered during the first Open Day at Esseco’s San Martino di Trecate plant, held on Saturday despite unfavorable weather conditions. Attendees included employees and their families, local citizens, regional entrepreneurs, and local authorities, such as Ms. Claudia Porchietto, Undersecretary of the Presidency of the Piedmont Region, Regional Councillor Matteo Marnati (Research, Innovation, and Environment), Novara Province President and Mayor of Trecate Federico Binatti, and Cerano Mayor Mauro Cesti.
“It was an indescribable joy for us to open the doors of our facility for the first time in our long history,” said Francesco Nulli, CEO of Esseco Group, who, alongside Chairman Piero Nulli and Engineer Giuseppe Falsiroli, CEO of Esseco Srl, guided visitors through the San Martino di Trecate site. “We wanted to showcase our sulfur-based and derivative products for the chemical and oenological industries, now 75% exported abroad, as well as our unwavering commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of our 1,300 employees, we have undergone an evolutionary journey that sees us competing worldwide with 800,000 tons of chemical products annually, including sulfur derivatives and chlor-alkali. We will continue to invest in training for our collaborators, in energy transition, in research and development of innovative processes, and in concrete support for the local area that hosts us, confident in our ability to continue our path of growth together, with strong roots in our history and a global vision open to the future.”
In organizing the Open Day, Esseco was inspired by the Minimum Environmental Criteria for Events developed by the Ministry of the Environment, aiming to contribute positively to combating climate change and reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Its ecological impact will also be offset with certified compensatory projects, ensuring it is a Carbon Neutral Event.
