In chemistry: catalyst in polymerization of synthetic fibres or dehydrogenation of olefins, in water-based adhesive resins and coatings, high-temperature polymer blowing agents.
In detergents, as component in washing powder and dishwasher tabs.
In agriculture, as a source of potassium in fertilizer formulations.
